Tuesday 04/25/06, an exceptional maintenance will take place. Our game servers will be down between 7am and 11am (GMT+1). This maintenance should let us better determine the cause of the disconnection issues players are experiencing.
A new version of the Dofus client will also be available. Here is the list of additions and changes that will be brought:
New login interface and "gifts" for subscribers. The login interface has been entirely revised in order to offer players our new gift system. This feature lets players who subscribe for a duration of 1 month, 3 months, 6 months or 1 year obtain, for their character, a new original pet as well as everything needed to feed it and raise it properly. Similarly, players subscribed for more than a year will randomly receive an item from a new panoply.
Gifts will be renewed over the months in order to be able to offer new gifts to players, but also to offer "collector's" pets. This system is for us a way to reward the most loyal players who have supported us for a long time, but also to reward players who trust us by subscribing for long periods.
This new login interface also lets us better keep you informed by displaying a selection of news published for example on the Dofus website.
The full list of gifts offered is accessible here.
The list of benefits reserved for subscribers is accessible here.
additional explanations:
The pets offered are only for new subscribers, if you subscribed before the 04/25/06 update, you will not be able to enjoy these pets.
Only new subscriptions let you obtain pets.
Loyalty gifts, on the other hand, are given to long-time subscribers on an exceptional basis.
New monster respawn system. The monster respawn system has been entirely revised in order to let all players (even during times when the game servers are heavily used) easily find monster groups suited to their level. Respawn times for new monsters have been revised downward and the number of monster groups per zone has been increased. Zones now have a minimum and maximum level for the random groups that appear there, in order to let players more easily find the zones that suit them.
The entire set of monsters in a single group is now also displayed on a map to make the world of Dofus feel more alive. This option, enabled by default, can be disabled via the game options menu.
The total level of monsters in a group is now displayed to simplify finding groups.
Expansion of the Abraknyde forest. The Abraknyde forest has been expanded to cope with the increase in the number of players in this zone. New monsters have also been added there.
Expansion of the Astrub zone. The free Astrub zone has been expanded in order to better spread out players and offer them playing conditions more representative of the rest of the game.
Change to the pet death system. Following the increase in the number of pet disappearances, we have decided to change the current system. From now on, pets can no longer disappear permanently, they are transformed into ghosts, keep their bonuses and characteristics, but can no longer be equipped. They will, following a future major update, be able to be resurrected.
Realignment now accessible. It is now possible for any player to change alignment and become neutral again. You just need to find the relevant NPC and pay them to become neutral again. Eventually, quests will also be offered to become neutral again.
Simplified divorce. The priest of the Amakna church lets you permanently separate from your spouse in exchange for a few donations to his church.
Changes to artificial intelligence. The artificial intelligences of monsters and of summons have been separated in order to be able to configure them differently, and to make the use of summons more effective and predictable. We eagerly await your feedback on the forums regarding these changes, so that we can continue improving the behavior of summons in combat.
Added filters on inventories. All inventories in the game (bank, chests, merchant modes...) now have filters similar to those present in the auction houses, in order to let players better find what they are looking for and to speed up the display of certain "cluttered" inventories.
General changes.
Spectators who join a fight can no longer see invisible characters.
Pets are now reserved for subscribed players.
Only subscribers can exceed level 30 in a profession. Players who have exceeded level 30 in a profession and who are no longer subscribed are temporarily capped at level 30 for the entire period during which they keep their non-subscriber status.
The Eniripsas' Regeneration spell can only be cast once per turn. It can be cast on an ally at levels 5 and 6 of the spell.
The Eniripsas' Curative Word spell can be cast every turn.
The Eniripsas' Word of Youth spell can be cast on oneself.
The Eniripsas' Rabbit summon can now boost its allies' healing.
The Eniripsas' Word of Torture spell changes effect. The old, non-functional life boost is removed. The spell heals the entire team across the whole map without line of sight, but this can kill the caster (the probability that the caster dies decreases as the spell's levels increase, and the healing increases).
Punishments are grouped into a single effect when displayed in combat.
It is now possible to succeed recipes with items that have different rolls, when several identical items with variable rolls are needed.
The result of a recipe is now visible once all the ingredients are placed, in order to limit possible mistakes.
The critical hit bonus of the Heuvante Axe is fixed.
The Enutrofs' Mass Clumsiness spell is fixed, AP losses now last several turns.
Lavoine Bow: the AP cost goes from 6 to 5, the minimum range from 2 to 3, and the bow is now reserved for the Crâ class.
The Brâkmar bank is now accessible to neutral characters.
The forgetting potion for the Xelors' Blur spell can now be bought at the Xelor temple.
