Major update
You can download the 1.15.2 client from the community site's download page or by opting for the sharing alternative that is BitTorrent, thanks to our BT tracker.
Here is the list of changes made by this client:
Mounts and breeding
You will finally be able to catch Wild Dragoturkeys, buy enclosures with your guild, or use public enclosures to breed your Dragoturkeys.
Enclosures:
Public enclosures are generic enclosures open to all adventurers. Less powerful and flexible than private enclosures, they have the advantage of requiring no investment. Private enclosures must be bought by your guild's leader, who will be able to choose, thanks to new guild permissions, who has access to the guild's enclosure, who can change its organization and who can access other guild members' mounts. Private enclosures can only be bought if the leader themself owns a mount (wild or not). A guild can only buy an enclosure every 10 guild levels (241 private enclosures are currently available per server, and this number will keep increasing with future updates). You will be able to customize your private enclosures with various machines and items in order to provide your mounts with an enclosure suited to their needs. We decided to tie the operation of private enclosures to that of guilds, in order to strengthen the importance of guilds, and to smooth out certain inequalities between players. Managing enclosures within a guild is deliberately based on trust between guild members. We hope this feature will let players of the same guild get to know each other better, and play together while setting aside differences in character levels.
Evolution, bonuses and characteristics:
Once mature, your Dragoturkeys will be able to breed, and you will have the option to attempt various crossbreeding to obtain more effective and rare mounts. The more you fight with your mount once it is fully mature, the more it will evolve. These mounts will let you carry many more items thanks to their own inventory! Mounts will also provide you with valuable help during fights by letting you benefit from their many bonuses. The bonuses offered by Dragoturkeys (apart from faster movement outside of combat and the additional inventory they bring) work similarly to the bonuses offered by pets. The strength of these bonuses depends on the rarity of the mount. These bonuses are sometimes slightly higher than those offered by the best pets, but within reasonable proportions, we did not want players who own mounts to be too advantaged compared to players playing with pets. The slight superiority of the bonuses offered by certain mounts is justified by their breeding, which, depending on the mount species, can take more time than pets, and can be much more costly. In addition, certain class spells and special spells cannot be used if the player is fighting on their mount. Under no circumstances will the pet system be devalued by the introduction of these mounts, these different creatures keep their specificities and their advantages. Players will have to choose between equipping their pet or their mount, they will not be able to combine these two features at the same time. Nothing prevents a player from doing some fights equipped with their mount, and other fights equipped with one of their pets.
Interactions with mounts:
The breeding system was designed to allow maximum interaction with mounts. They recognize their owner and react to their actions or moods. Simply waving at your mount when it is in an enclosure encourages it to come closer to you, which can let you direct it toward certain enclosure machines and items...
Accessibility:
We decided not to make a specific breeder profession, but rather a feature accessible to everyone, any player can breed and catch mounts if they have the mount-catching spell. Breeding mounts is not meant to be an activity that takes a lot of time, we designed this system to accommodate less regular players who cannot log in often to feed their pets. So, mounts cannot die, it is the player who decides when to feed them. Mounts can very well go without care for several weeks. This mount system offers an interesting alternative to players who feel the pet system is too demanding. However, this major feature was also designed to be a full-time occupation, for players who wish to devote themselves fully to it. Serious breeding, and the search for the best Dragoturkeys through crossbreeding will require the investment of several professions, and of an entire guild. Trading and selling Dragoturkeys are also made easier and highlighted in order to promote interactions between players. Breeding mounts does not require any particular level for players, only learning the catching spell as well as catching Dragoturkeys require being accompanied by experienced players. Any beginner player, especially if they are part of a guild, can enjoy the pleasures of breeding. In addition, public enclosures let players who do not belong to a guild and who have limited in-game resources enjoy (with some limitations nonetheless) this major new feature. We are also thinking about and working on other ways to reward time spent breeding mounts, for an upcoming update.
The tinkerer profession
This new profession is closely tied to breeding features. Indeed, it lets you craft numerous machines and items to place in private enclosures, which will let you change your mount's behavior and evolution. The items and machines created by the Tinkerer are essential for guilds that want to get into mount breeding. All Tinkerer creations have a limited lifespan and, through wear, eventually break down.
The new area: the Koalak Mountain
This new area, wedged between the plains of Cania and the moors of Sidimote, will let you discover the new breeders' village, and all its secrets, terrible creatures, the Koalaks await you there and will fiercely defend their wild territory. You will also be able to hunt Wild Dragoturkeys there to catch them. Players will be able to venture into the Wild Canyon, the Kaliptus forest, the enchanted lakes, the Koulosse cave or even Skeunk's lair. This area was designed to encourage team play, do not venture there alone! You will also have the option to buy new houses and enclosures in the breeders' village located in the heart of the mountains and accessible via the Zaap.
Amakna Castle
Awaited for an eternity, this castle opens its doors to adventurers once again! It is now an essential crossroads between Astrub and Amakna, you will be able to buy new dwellings there, breeders' enclosures, enjoy its port, its Zaap and its ease of access. King Allister himself is thinking of soon returning to live in this castle and bringing his guard back! The castle's courtyard may come alive in the coming months...
The Resource Guardians
The Sadida and Enutrof gods have decided to oppose the plundering of the continent's natural resources! They thus grant certain natural resources the ability to defend themselves against gatherers. This new feature helps break the monotony of gathering professions by offering players new challenges, and effectively fighting against "macro" and "bot" users. It benefits honest players by letting them gather resources much faster without having to repeat certain repetitive gathering actions.
Searching for recipes by ingredient
We have integrated, for each item, the ability to find the recipes in which this item is used. Simply click on the magnifying-glass-shaped button next to an item's illustration to get these recipes. This feature should let you more easily and quickly determine what certain items or resources can be used for.
The continent's new areas
The Bworks have not taken any vacation recently, and have used the time to expand their village with their fellow Goblins. Come discover or rediscover their unique village and their legendary sense of hospitality.
The Craqueleur dungeon
It is said that a Legendary Craqueleur has lived on top of a mountain in Amakna for several years now... No one has yet tried to go dislodge it.
The resurrection of pets
All pet ghosts are entering a trance, they will soon be able to come back to life, but only if their owner finds the entrance to the pet sanctuary... The resurrection of pets is therefore available to everyone, but be careful, this quest cannot be completed without the help of a well-organized group! Solo adventurers, abstain!
The bottomless marshes
A breach has opened in the mountain of Amakna, and the marshes that once housed the terrifying Crocoburio have expanded up to the edges of the Koalak forest. If you enjoy the smell of peat, and armies of Crocodailles, you will be well served.
The underground passages of Amakna Castle
Connecting the Astrub mine to Amakna Castle, these underground passages could serve as shortcuts, if they weren't infested with terrible creatures and unsavory people. It's the ideal place for groups of beginner adventurers seeking experience!
The Bouftou breeding area
Between Amakna Castle and Astrub, this small area is used by the castle's garrison to breed Bouftous, an inexhaustible source of food (and bad smells). Locked in enclosures, they are easy prey for beginner adventurers who like to cut their teeth on these creatures.
Bonta and Brâkmar
Trade in these two cities has grown considerably since breeders' enthusiasm for the enclosures found there. As a result, new auction houses are appearing there:
- The animal auction house, to sell your mounts, your pets, your pet ghosts, and all your kennel certificates.
- The search scroll auction house is located at the heart of the militia, this auction house will let you find new opponents more easily.
- The document auction house, located next to the new library, will let you buy and sell books, as well as spell and characteristic scrolls.
- The rune auction house, located next to the new rune-crafting workshop, where you will be able to sell and buy all the rune-crafting runes in circulation.
- The tinkerers' auction house, located next to the tinkerers' workshop, is where you will find most of the items and machines needed for your enclosures.
