New monster respawn system: To help all players find monster groups suited to the size of their team, we have developed a new monster respawn system. Now, on nearly every map in the game, we spawn 3 monster groups. The first group always contains between 1 and 2 monsters. The second group always contains between 3 and 4 monsters. The third group always contains between 5 and 8 monsters.

  • If the first group is killed, it will be replaced by a new first group that will also contain between 1 and 2 monsters.
  • If the second group is killed, it will be replaced by a new second group that will also contain between 3 and 4 monsters.
  • If the third group is killed, it will be replaced by a new third group that will also contain between 5 and 8 monsters.

With this system, we ensure that every map contains a monster group suited to the size of most player groups in the game. This system also lets players who play alone or in a small group progress into zones that were previously inaccessible to them because they didn't offer enough small-sized monster groups. Some older zones in the game include monsters whose level is much lower than that of the other monsters present in the zone (the Serpentins, for example). To avoid groups of size 1 to 2 being occupied solely by this type of monster, we plan to gradually review the level and power of the monsters concerned. New characteristics: We have added 4 new characteristics:

  • AP Removal: 10 points of Wisdom grant 1 point of AP Removal.
  • MP Removal: 10 points of Wisdom grant 1 point of MP Removal.
  • AP Dodge: 10 points of Wisdom grant 1 point of AP Dodge.
  • MP Dodge: 10 points of Wisdom grant 1 point of MP Dodge.

These characteristics can be modified (bonuses and penalties) by the new equipment included in the new Frigost episode 2 expansion. The spellforging runes associated with these characteristics are available in this expansion. Adding these characteristics lets us offer more character customization options. A character can now choose to specialize in AP Removal at the expense of their AP Removal Dodge, for example. AP and MP Dodge scores, as well as AP and MP Removal scores, are now displayed differently. They are no longer expressed as a percentage in the interfaces, but only as scores. The displayed values are lower than those used before this expansion, because the conversion of Wisdom points into Dodge and Removal has changed (previously 4 points of Wisdom granted 1 point of Dodge and Removal, now 10 points of Wisdom grant 1 point of Dodge and Removal). This change to the conversion of Wisdom points into Dodge and Removal points applies to both player characters and monsters. These new characteristics do not change the formula used to calculate AP and MP Dodge and Removal. At equivalent Wisdom, the odds of dodging an AP or MP Removal and the chances of removing AP or MP are identical to those used before these new characteristics appeared. Turn order display system:

  • In combat, a new feature lets you display numbering for all participants (on the "timeline" and under the characters), to quickly visualize the turn order of combatants. This option is disabled by default and can be enabled in the "Features" section of the options.
  • The "timeline" is now displayed during the combat preparation phase, letting you know the initiative before the fight starts and thus position yourself during preparation based on enemy initiatives.

Gauge selection system:

  • A new option is now available by right-clicking the central medallion. It lets you display other gauges in place of the experience gauge:
    • Guild experience.
    • Mount experience.
    • Profession experience (each profession is selectable).
    • Honor points.
    • Pods.

Interfaces:

  • On the login interface, a button has been added to access the referral system.
  • On the character sheet, the energy gauge now correctly updates after using a potion that restores energy points.
  • In the emotes and smileys interface, if the auto-close option is enabled, the tooltip for the smiley played is now correctly removed.
  • On the server selection interface, the warning message after attempting to connect to a full server is now fixed for cases where the list of accessible servers is empty.
  • In the chat interface, a new channel is available. It lets you display messages promoting Ankama products. This channel can be disabled.
  • In the chat interface, the context menu is disabled on the sender of server messages (for red messages, for example).
  • In the interface options, how chat channel color selection and saving works has been improved.
  • In the options interface, the category list has been reorganized.

Inventory:

  • Opening the mount inventory while the equipment interface is already open no longer causes issues.
  • In inventory interfaces (banks, chests, Dragodinde or Prism inventories), sorting items by name, weight, or quantity via right-click now works correctly.
  • The button to transfer all items from an inventory no longer appears in interfaces where it can't be used (merchant mode, for example).

Auction houses and merchant modes:

  • In the auction house interface (buy mode), when selecting an item type (from the list on the left), the generic item sheet is now displayed above the different item batches. After selecting a batch, the item sheet appears and a new button has been added to view the item's theoretical rolls.
  • In the auction house interface (sell mode), the last quantity listed for an item is automatically reused when selecting a similar item already listed for sale from the inventory.
  • In the auction house interface, the maximum quantity is selected by default when selling an item.
  • In the sell/buy interfaces with an NPC and in merchant mode, entering a quantity that's too high is automatically replaced by the maximum possible quantity.
  • In the sell/buy interfaces with an NPC and in merchant mode buy/sell interfaces, the total price is now displayed.
  • In the sell/buy interfaces with an NPC, the quantity input field is automatically selected by default so it can be edited more quickly.
  • In the auction house sell interface, the sale confirmation message has been improved and now displays:
    • The unit price of the item being sold.
    • The total price of the item being sold (different from the unit price if the item is sold in a quantity greater than 1).
    • The total sale tax.

Professions:

  • In item crafting interfaces, the window displaying the message "Item crafting has been interrupted" has been removed.
  • In the item crafting interface, in cooperative mode, if a player selects a new recipe, the result and quantity information is now correctly updated.
  • When a craftsman offers a customer to start cooperative crafting or spellforging, the waiting interface now closes correctly if the customer declines the offer.
  • In the related recipes interface, the button to return to the original item's sheet after viewing another item has been repositioned.

Spellforging:

  • The display of spellforging results in the chat interface has been simplified, and the results (bonuses and penalties) are now displayed.
  • In the spellforging interface, the checkbox to filter inventory contents is now displayed and works correctly.

Spells: Spells that offered bonuses as a percentage of Dodge and Dodge Removal for AP or MP have been changed to be compatible with the new characteristics added in this expansion. Feca:

  • Wind Armor: MP Dodge values are converted and rounded up.
  • Water Armor: AP Dodge values are converted and rounded up.

  • Blinding Protection: AP Dodge values are converted.
  • Mummification: AP Dodge values are converted.
  • Xelor's Dial: AP Dodge penalty values are converted and rounded up for rank 6 of the spell, and rounded down for ranks 1 to 5. Spent spell points are refunded.

Pandawa:

  • Stabilization: MP Dodge bonus values are converted.

Sadida:

  • The Overpowering: the MP Dodge penalty values of the Enchanted Graze spell are converted and rounded up.

Combat:

  • It is no longer possible for a character to die at the start of a fight by dismounting from a mount that granted Vitality bonuses.
  • Characters who forfeit a challenge are now shown on the end-of-fight interface.
  • Spectators can now change their equipment during a fight.
  • Poisons based on AP loss now take temporary, undodgeable AP bonuses and penalties into account: a temporary AP bonus that is consumed will cause HP loss. A temporary, undodgeable AP penalty will not trigger HP loss.
  • Damage reflection spells (the Xelor's Counter spell, for example) no longer allow life to be stolen when reflecting a life-steal attack. This change does not affect spell reflection.
  • Using the Osamodas' Spiritual Leash spell on a character who died while invisible no longer makes them invisible to other players.

Group system:

  • Managing a group's combat lock is improved when the group is involved in several fights at once:
    • Only the group leader can change the out-of-combat option, and only characters out of combat (and those leaving combat) are notified of the option change.
    • In combat, the option's default value is the one set out of combat.
    • Only the group leader can change the option in combat, and this has no effect on group members who are not in that fight.

PvP and territory conquest:

  • The effectiveness of the Knight who defends neutral-alignment characters has been increased at all levels:
    • Initiative has been increased.
    • Tackle and Flee bonuses have been increased.
    • Movement points have been increased.
    • Action points have been increased.
    • HP has been increased.
  • The penalties tied to dishonor points have been changed and are now applied starting from the very first dishonor point:
    • It is no longer possible to place or use a conquest prism.
    • It is no longer possible to hide alignment wings.
    • The character can be attacked by neutral-alignment characters on every map where combat is possible (including Zaap maps).
    • In fights against a neutral character, only characters with dishonor points and the same alignment can join the dishonored character's team.
    • In fights against a neutral-alignment character, no honor or dishonor points can be gained or lost, even if characters of the opposing alignment join the neutral team.
  • It is now necessary to reach level 50 to place or attack a conquest prism. However, it is no longer necessary to be grade 3.
  • It is now no longer possible to teleport to an enclosure or house located in an enemy city.
  • Combat markers (swords) shown for neutral and dishonored characters now have a specific appearance, letting players visually spot the alignment of characters engaging in a fight.

Heroic Server:

  • It is no longer possible to force a higher-level character out of a PvP fight.
  • Characters who win a PvP fight now steal honor points from the losers. This change makes it easier to gain honor points on the Heroic Server.
  • The Heroic Server rules reminder message is now displayed on login instead of every 4 hours.

Monsters:

  • AP and MP Removal dodge values for all monsters have been converted to the new AP and MP Dodge score system.
  • Koalak Warrior: the "Wisecrack" spell now correctly knocks back opponents.
  • Immature Koalak: the "Discharge" and "Masterful Discharge" spells now correctly knock back opponents.

Wanted notices:

  • Brumen Tinctorias and Rok Gnorok are once again present in the World of Twelve.

Artificial Intelligence:

  • Devoted monsters now move more efficiently at the end of their turn: they still take their summoner's position into account, but now avoid moving closer to enemies.
  • Monsters with invisibility spells now try to move before the end of their turn, after revealing their position.
  • Monsters now try to end their turn on positive glyphs and avoid ending their turn on negative glyphs.
  • The Double now tries to block two targets if they are close to it, instead of following the direction indicated by its summoner.
  • The Double now takes traps into account when moving: it tries to avoid traps that have no enemies on them.
  • Monsters with aggressive behavior now try to position themselves on adjacent cells shared by several opponents, in order to try to tackle as many opponents as possible.
  • Monsters now try to avoid summoning on glyphs with negative effects.
  • Monsters with aggressive behavior now try to fall back in order to use spells with an area of effect larger than one cell that they would not be able to cast without falling back.
  • Monsters with aggressive or fearful behavior handle teleportation spells more efficiently.
  • Monsters handle the positioning of the glyphs they place more efficiently.
  • Monsters with no MP now correctly cast spells whose area of effect is an inverted circle (the Pougnette monster and its Pikette spell, for example).

Pets:

  • Two new pet potions are now available: the minor kibble potion and the major kibble potion. These potions let you reduce an existing bonus on the pet by one point, to make room for another bonus. These potions are subject to the following restrictions:
    • The potions only work on pets that can give different bonuses. For example, they are unusable on a Fotome or Bouloute pet, but they do work on a Fire Bwak or an El Scarador.
    • The potions only work if the pet has one or more bonuses.
    • The major kibble potion reduces the highest bonus by one point (if several bonuses have the same value, one of the highest is chosen at random).
    • The minor kibble potion reduces the lowest bonus by one point (if several bonuses have the same value, one of the lowest is chosen at random).
    • For soul-devouring pets only:
      • The potions only work if the pet has already reached its maximum bonuses.
      • The potions only work if the pet has at least two bonuses.
      • The pet instantly regains 1 point in one of its existing bonuses when possible (if the bonus's maximum value has not been exceeded and if the pet has already devoured enough souls to obtain this bonus). For example, an El Scarador that grants +15% Fire resistance and +5% Water resistance will only accept a major kibble potion if the pet has devoured more than 300 Blue Scarafeuille. (An El Scarador gains 1% Water resistance for every 50 Blue Scarafeuille killed.) If the pet consumes a minor kibble potion, its Fire resistance will drop to 14% and its Water resistance to 6%.
  • The message announcing the activation of the pet bonus in their favorite zone is now displayed correctly.
  • It is no longer necessary to start a new trade at the Kennel to change a pet's certificate.
  • Pet improvement potions and Eupéohs are now used like pet food: they can no longer be used by double-clicking with the mouse; they must be given to pets as food instead.
  • The wings of the Faded Bat pet no longer turn black during the movement animation.
