Version 1.28 Update 1.28 will be available on 07/28/09 after weekly maintenance.
Here is the list of changes brought by version 1.28:
Challenges:
- Incurable: the challenge's description is fixed.
- Unpredictable and Hitman: the random selection of new targets is improved.
- Untouchable: if an enemy summon deals damage to a player, the challenge is now considered failed.
- The loot bonuses brought by challenges are correctly taken into account.
- The loot bonuses brought by challenges now also increase the prospecting threshold of the team that completes the challenges. For example, a 50% loot bonus brought by a challenge will grant a 50% bonus to the probability of getting loot and will increase the group's prospecting threshold by 50%. We changed this loot bonus handling to allow small groups of players to unlock high prospecting thresholds if they complete the challenges.
Items:
- Koulosse Staff: the weapon becomes two-handed. The critical hit probability goes from 1 in 35 to 1 in 20. The critical hit damage bonus goes from 7 to 10.
- Koulosse panoply: the wisdom bonus is removed.
- Dindo panoply: the fixed damage bonus is removed. The action point bonus is replaced with a movement point bonus.
- Minotoror panoply: the summonable creatures bonus is removed.
- Archer Bandit's Bow, Fine-Blade Bandit's Sword, Wanderer Bandit's Staff, Sorcerer Bandit's Wand: these incarnation weapons can no longer be rune-crafted in order to prevent the loss of effects when reconnecting characters who use them.
Monsters:
- Chatterbox (Dragueuse): the Chat-Up spell now correctly attracts enemies.
- Black Rat: the Kackitu spell works correctly.
- Kitsou Nere: the monster summons correctly.
- Dark Blacksmith: the Magic Protection spell correctly reduces damage and increases resistance to movement point loss.
Areas:
- Fungus Cave: aggressions and teleportations are now possible in this area.
- Brâkmar: it is now possible to buy water in the taverns from these NPCs: Aldir Atolmond, Krachan Porterr, Jiaye Djaul, Malicia Misère.
Conquest villages:
The value of the resistance bonuses granted by the conquest villages of Pandala island are reduced because they were causing excessive imbalances in PvP fights:
- Prosperity: the Water resistance bonus goes from 20% to 5%.
- Insight: the Fire resistance bonus goes from 20% to 5%.
- Elasticity: the Air resistance bonus goes from 20% to 5%.
- Toughness: the Earth resistance bonus goes from 20% to 5%.
Initiative calculation:
Initiative is now calculated as follows:
Each point in the strength, chance, intelligence or agility characteristics grants one initiative point. Total initiative remains weighted by the character's percentage of hit points remaining (if your character starts a fight with 50% of their hit points, they will only benefit from 50% of their initiative points).
We changed the initiative formula introduced in version 1.27 because it did not match our expectations. We wanted to favor characters that prioritized defensive abilities over offensive abilities, but this benefited two types of characters far too much: Sacrieurs and Osamodas (those based almost exclusively on summon-based gameplay). These two types of characters were getting a much too significant advantage by starting PvP fights far too often. With the initiative formula introduced in version 1.28, we want to make initiative values fairer between classes while constraining certain types of characters from starting the fight.
Traps and glyphs:
- Traps and glyphs are now colored to make them easier to tell apart. Enemies who detect traps cannot see colored traps (so they don't know what type of trap they just revealed). Traps placed by monsters are black and monster glyphs are white.
Breeding:
- The maximum number of matings for a mount is fixed, it is now set to 20 instead of 21.
Heroic server:
- The use of teleportation to your husband or wife is disabled on the heroic server in order to limit the misuse made of this feature.
- It is no longer possible to destroy your equipment or the items present in your inventory during a fight's preparation phase. This change applies to the heroic server and to classic servers, but mainly concerns the heroic server.
