Nowel Island:
New quests, rewards, and new monsters are added to Nowel Island's event content. A new gift system lets you wrap items into packages to give them to other players.
Maps and areas:
- All the outdoor and indoor maps of the Astrub area have been redone.
- The interiors of the Koalak area have been redone.
- The Amakna Cemetery area has been redone.
Dispel system change:
The dispel system has been changed, and most spells no longer remove all of a target's effects, but instead reduce their duration.
When an effect's duration reaches 0, the effect is considered dispelled.
For example, reducing effect durations by 2 turns on an effect that lasts 2 turns is equivalent to a full dispel.
This new system lets us offer several types of spells by varying the amount of effect-duration reduction. This allows us to replace complete but random dispels (Ghostly Shovel or Blight, for example) with weak but deterministic (non-random) duration reductions.
Improved handling of unhealable life:
Unhealable life (10% of base HP lost) is now applied to the fixed damage reductions from spells (Word of Caution, Feca's Elemental Armors, Toad, Mummification, etc.).
This change ensures that a character can't remain invulnerable indefinitely too easily. It's also an opportunity for us to introduce a damage-management concept by adding unhealable-life penalties to several offensive classes' spells, to be applied to enemies.
Making greater use of this effect on offensive classes lets us strengthen their role and fight more effectively against protective classes.
In addition, this change significantly reduces the duration of "endless" fights when two teams have more protective abilities than offensive ones.
The classes affected by these new options are Iop, Ecaflip, Sram, and Rogue (via the Blunderbuss spell).
The maximum percentage of unhealable life remains fixed at 50%.
Action stacking system:
A new system simplifies resource gathering (and reduces the number of unnecessary clicks) by letting you stack up several resource harvests in advance (on the same map), which will then be carried out one after another. This feature can be used via the "SHIFT + click" shortcut on resources.
This system also lets you create a movement action stack, to more easily bypass a group of monsters or automatically change maps after one or more resource harvests.
