Despite the lockdown, we were keen to keep improving your quality of life in-game by adding new features and bringing a batch of fixes we think you'll like. We're also adding the Abra Kadabra pet to the shop. While the full list of changes in this update, planned for next April 29, is available as a changelog below, we wanted to give you more detail on some of them.
1. Features and content
Removal of the dragoturkey requirement to progress in Otomaï's quest, which allows resetting your characteristics.
In response to the postponed server merge, we've stepped in to let you reset your characteristics with Otomaï without needing to complete the "Un autre moyen de transport" quest, which required the player to provide two dragoturkey certificates. Players with a character above level 81 will no longer be required to buy a restoring orb from the shop. Once the merge happens, the quest will become mandatory again.
No more overcrowded arenas!
"There are already too many people here to enter." How many mice have been thrown at the wall at the sight of that message? Way too many! For their well-being (and yours), we're pleased to announce that we've found a solution to overcrowded arenas. From now on, there will no longer be a capacity limit like on any other map in the game, and players will be able to release up to 50 soul stones at once instead of 20 previously. We've also stepped in to let players release a soul stone "every time," without being forced to try several times. After a dungeon run with friends in the evening, you'll be able to head straight to the arena without any trouble (even if you used to rely on overcrowded arenas to slip away and put your capture up for auction unnoticed).
We're adjusting the resale price of certain items to NPCs.
To keep the servers viable in the long run, we've decided to adjust the NPC resale prices of certain items. We're drawing here on DOFUS 2's experience, to balance the natural mechanisms of kama generation and destruction. Without kama destruction, servers would "stagnate" much faster. We're aware that the practice of dropping bow meat **** to resell it cooked to an NPC at 5,000k each had become popular, but it has the effect of artificially generating large amounts of kamas without the player actually trading the dropped meat. As a result, the player doesn't need to diversify their activity and isn't subject to supply and demand like they are for the rest of the resources they might acquire. That wasn't satisfactory.
Characters now have specific spell and gathering animations while riding a dragoturkey.
Several weeks ago, we put a change to a community vote regarding spell and gathering animations while a player rides a dragoturkey. Despite some reluctance from certain players on the forums, the vote results are unequivocal! A very large majority of players (> 75%) are in favor of this change, which will apply to both the Remastered pack and the "classic" version. Thanks to DUSK, who worked hard to get it into 1.32!
You no longer need to wait for a spell's animation to finish before casting a new one.
We were also asked to find an alternative to "anti-lag." For those wondering what this refers to, "anti-lag" was an option present in modified clients before the Retro servers launched (as a reminder, any modification of the game client is now forbidden and punished), and it simply removed spell animations to allow chaining spells without waiting for those animations to finish. Players had gotten used to it and saw its disappearance as a regression in the gaming experience. We've decided to step in: it is now no longer necessary to wait for a spell's animation to finish before recasting it. Note that only certain spells are affected, since it was already unnecessary to wait for the animation of other spells to recast them. This solution is satisfactory, as players gain fluidity while keeping the enjoyment of the animations. On top of that, other improvements will make your fights flow more smoothly than ever! You now have no excuse not to build your Ecaflip team and chain +AP roulettes!
2. Fixes
The soul stone Auction House will now be limited to 1,000 listings of each full soul stone.
On the fixes side, following the last double XP weekend, we were informed that an overload of the soul stone Auction House was causing the client to crash when browsing it. We're limiting to 1,000 the soul stones that can be listed per category ("full soul stone," "dungeon guardian soul stone," "Spirit Gem of […]," etc.), meaning a player won't be able to list a stone if the limit has been reached. This limit shouldn't constrain sellers any more than they already are, since when the soul stone Auction House is overloaded, no buyer can purchase a stone anyway. Note that this fix will not "unstick" an Auction House that is currently overloaded. Only players can permanently resolve the situation by removing their listed stones, either manually or by waiting for the listing period to expire.
3. Shop
To celebrate the arrival of 1.32, we're also thinking of those who want more choice in the Retro shop by adding a pet that grants up to 55% extra damage.
We're pleased to let you know that Abra Kadabra will be available for purchase starting April 29. This soul-devourer, which keeps count of every member of its family you've killed (yes, that's creepy), will accompany you on your farming and XP sessions in the Abraknyde Forest. Safe to say it will barely leave your side.
So? Can't wait for April 29?
