The game servers are going to be updated, here is the list of changes made on 05/11/22:

1. Graphical fixes:
  • The sword of the "starter" panoplies (bronze, silver, gold, diamond) now has a combat appearance
  • The spell cooldown has been smoothed out across all characters to the lowest value
    • Example: the Sram took 0.8s to "become available" for the next spell from behind and 0.4s from the front, both values are now 0.4s.
    • Some of these animations were visually shortened to accommodate this change
  • Fixed an issue that made the Enutrof's headgear disappear during a spell animation on a Dragoturkey
2. Ergonomics and improvements:
New "fullscreen" interface

To make better use of the space taken up by the black bars, a new interface is available!

As soon as the game window has enough width, this mode is automatically activated and displays an advanced chat on the side, which separates combat information from conversations. This chat, more optimized than the game's original chat, has a much larger history. This change is available on the Modern client (for Classic and Remastered) and can be disabled at any time in the game options.

The space gained in the banner allows two panels to be displayed, which can be switched between by clicking on their background:

  • An exploration panel that displays the medallion's mini-map at a much larger size
  • A tool panel that has the same slots as the movable shortcut bar and shows the target's effects in combat in real time

Several buttons are displayed in the header:

  • Allows you to clear the chat (shortcut for /clear)
  • Allows you to search for all instances of a keyword in the chat and then quickly navigate between them (CTRL + F shortcut)
  • Allow you to toggle the display of the advanced chat to the left or right of the play area
  • Allow you to enable/disable the various chat channels

Several options are available to customize your interface:

  • You can resize the "chat" or "information" channel by holding the SHIFT key and the mouse wheel
  • The text can be zoomed by holding the CTRL key and the mouse wheel
  • It is possible to switch to a dark mode by clicking on the game options (wrench button), then "Options" in the top left of the window

Note that it is not possible to resize the ratio between the chat and the play area, as it is automatically calculated to leave no black bars relative to the window size. In simpler terms: enlarging or reducing the chat further will cause black bars to appear on the play area.

To further maximize the play area, the Modern client's window options now only open when the game options are open.

Finally, you can open an external chat window, for example if you have a second monitor, by pressing the star button "Chat menu" → "Open external chat"

Improvements to the combat information chat

From now on, when an attack hits two or more characters, everything is grouped into a single line in the information channel. When an effect hits all allies, all enemies, or everyone, the message is modified accordingly. It is also possible to click directly on a name or an effect to target the corresponding character or monster.

Simplified status display

We wanted to improve the readability of ongoing statuses when hovering over a player; it will now be possible to see at all times which statuses affect which characters through an icon representing them. They are updated in real time in the targeted player's information panel, and this also applies in spectator mode.

This first version aims to display the statuses of players' spells, but we are considering creating icons for the other statuses in the game.

Improved item purchasing from certain NPCs

Thanks to the feature developed for Temporis, we have been able to convert certain NPCs into vendors. In short, instead of having to go through dialogues to exchange tokens for an item, it will now be possible to carry out exchanges with the desired quantities, as with a regular Kamas purchase.

  • Emma Sacre and Thomas Sacre (Pévétons)
    • Spiritual Gems
    • Characteristic Scrolls
    • Spell Scrolls
  • Dopeul trainers (Doplons)
    • Note: it is not possible to obtain the key ring, nor the class special spell through this method. It is also not possible to use different Doplons for technical reasons (e.g.: 1 of each class).
    • Characteristic Scrolls
  • The fair vendor Hinss Hairt (Trool Fair Tokens)
    • Plushies and boss accessories
Other changes
  • We are adding two additional slots to the movable shortcut bar, going from 14 to 16
    • Note: beyond 14 slots, the display is forced into horizontal mode so as not to overflow onto the game banner
  • Enabling/disabling your wings or joining/leaving a guild is now automatically updated for all players on the map; it is no longer necessary to leave and re-enter the map
  • Players' alignment is now shown on the aligned end-of-fight panels
  • Hovering the mouse over the characteristics button in the banner now shows the percentage of the current level and how many experience points are required to reach the next level
  • The Soul Auction House is renamed to Soul Sales House to simplify finding it in the Zaapis list
  • The list of prisms available for teleporting is now sorted by name, like the Zaapis, to make searching easier
  • The items "Spiritual Gem of XXX" have been renamed to "Gem of XXX" to improve readability when purchasing them, the word "Spiritual" is now reflected in the item's description
  • Pressing the left and right arrow keys on the keyboard lets you scroll through the merchant modes available on the map when the purchase interface is open
  • The zone name is now displayed at the top of the game map to reduce refresh flickering, make everything more readable, and leave more room for sub-zones with long names
  • It is no longer possible to confirm a purchase with the "Max" button of the quantity popup in merchant mode and with NPCs. However, it is still possible to sell this way, or to confirm the use of multiple items
  • Reminder of the changes made during the Goultarminator
    • It is now possible to reconnect during a fight during friendly challenges
  • To improve the comfort of spectator mode:
    • An animation is played on the cell of the character who is starting their turn
    • The information banner is now updated automatically and no longer needs to be refreshed with the mouse
3. Out-of-combat fixes:
Adjustments to the tracking and prism system

We are improving the search system to reduce rigidity and encourage a more active gameplay loop:

  • Fixed a bug that could, due to actions outside the player's control, prevent finding a tracking target for a potentially significant amount of time
  • The search has been adapted and broadened to reach more relevant players
  • Overall, we have adjusted this aging system to today's ways of playing

It is difficult to convey changes of this kind through a changelog, so we are waiting for your feedback in order to adjust, if necessary, the points mentioned.

During a tracking, a player will have the possibility of attacking their target on virtually any map in the game. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Zaaps
  • Dungeons
  • Houses (unlocked)
  • Arenas
  • Cities, villages, peninsulas or islands

Of course, outside of a tracking, the usual protections still apply. There are also maps where it is intentionally always impossible to attack.

The conquest prisms are enhanced with the village hearts' spell "Blazing Ray." Also, the spell will be modified as follows for all prisms:

  • Now has infinite range
  • Increases damage by 5 (infinite)
  • This effect cannot be mitigated or removed
  • As a reminder, line of sight is not required for this spell

In return, the base AP for conquest prisms goes from 10 to 8.

These changes aim to give a bit of spice to the prisms and avoid situations where they get stuck in combat.

In addition, we have made the following changes:

  • Added the mention "(Tracking)" after the Aggress button when the character is the target of a tracking
  • Outside of a tracking, it is no longer possible to aggress other players on the map of the NPC "Emma Sacre"
    • This change aims to have identical behavior on the Bonta and Brâkmar side
  • It is now possible to aggress a player who is browsing the list of prisms, changing their house code, or putting their house/enclosure up for sale
  • Fixed a bug that prevented a player from being teleported out of the prism room after capturing an aligned village

We have other plans in mind to modernize this system, which will arrive in the coming weeks, such as a less manual search method and the reintroduction of Shigekax in exchange for Pévétons.

Overhaul of the Bwork Surprise Pack (BSP) system

Unlike other similar items, such as the gifts collected on Nowel Island, the item contained in the BSP was determined as soon as the Pack was obtained at the Trool fair. It was therefore possible for someone with bad intentions to deliberately keep the gifts that contained used Bworker Protections or less interesting items on the market, and sell them for a fortune in merchant mode.

To counter this, the new BSPs distributed by Krowbe Jondon's Bwork machine will now work as follows:

  • The item obtained in the Pack is now assigned when it is opened and, as a result, can no longer be guessed in advance
  • The odds of getting a given item are unchanged
  • To make it easier to distinguish from the old Packs, a new pictogram has been created and used exclusively for this new version

It is therefore no longer possible to obtain the old BSPs through conventional means, and we therefore recommend buying this new version in the shop. Those who have old BSPs can use the "Buy/Sell" interface with Krowbe Jondon at [-11, -41] to sell them for the new version.

It is now also possible to use the same interface to buy a BSP with a Bworker Token.

Other changes
  • Fixed an issue that prevented fertile and tired Dragoturkeys from appearing in the mount list with the "Fertile mount" filter
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the zoom function from working until a reconnection
  • The label showing the amount of experience gained for the guild has been extended up to 10 digits before being cut off, compared to 8 before
    • This change also fixes a misalignment that occurred in the guild member list, making the amount unreadable
  • It is no longer possible to trade 100x Cawottes to the NPC "Wob" if you already have the spell of the same name: the player suffered the loss of the items without obtaining the spell
  • It is no longer possible to become invisible and untargetable by consuming items that transform the player's appearance
  • The item "Monster Bread" can no longer be used in the Ilyzaelle and Qu'Tan dungeons because it allowed players to free themselves from the boss room's penalty
  • Fixed an issue that prevented butchers from crafting the item "Ghost of Gelutin"
  • Map fixes:
    • Added combat placement cells on maps where they were missing
    • Added teleportation markers on maps where they were missing
    • The fishermen's workshop at [12, -1] is now shown on the world map
    • The alchemists' workshop at [-57, 19] is now shown on the world map
  • Spelling fixes in certain NPC dialogues
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the dishonor bar from progressing to its maximum
4. In-combat fixes:
Adjustments to certain combat challenges

We have already addressed the question of the impossibility of completely forgetting an optional spell such as the Summoning of Charferfu, and we replied that it was complicated to create an entire system for a problem that remains marginal. We prefer to approach the problem from the other direction by looking at what is causing issues with the challenges.

To this end, we are making the following changes:

  • The challenge can only appear when the team has a combined total of at least 5 levels in the Summoning of Chaferfu spell
    • The minimum experience and loot bonuses of the challenge are increased
  • The challenge can only appear when the team has a combined total of at least 5 levels in the Cawotte spell
    • The minimum experience and loot bonuses of the challenge are increased
    • The maximum experience and loot bonuses of the challenge are increased
  • The challenge can only appear when the team has a combined total of at least 5 levels in the Summoning of Arakne spell
    • The minimum experience and loot bonuses of the challenge are increased
    • The maximum experience and loot bonuses of the challenge are increased

We would also like to evolve how the "Barbarian" challenge works, we will get back to you to gather your opinions.

Other changes
  • The circles under characters transformed in combat (e.g.: Abraknyde Dungeon) are now correctly colored
  • It is no longer possible to get stuck during the current turn if you try to cast a melee attack while you no longer have the necessary AP
  • Fixed an issue that canceled the preselection of a melee weapon at the start of a game turn
  • The text of the Blitzkrieg challenge has been modified to better reflect its conditions
