With this 13th beta version, thieves — roleplay or not — are in for quite a disappointment, as the trade interface makes its appearance. Other new features and changes come along with it, so we ask for a bit of patience in case of bugs. Let's remember once again, we are in beta testing.

New features :

Trade interface - The trade interface will let you exchange your items and Kamas with those of other players. When you meet a player, just click on them and select "Trade" from the menu. The interface follows the same principle as shops.

Artwork integration - Character illustrations have been integrated into the game. You'll find them when it's your turn in combat. Merchant illustrations have also been added.

Everyone starts weaponless - From now on, your character will not have any weapons when starting at level 1. You'll have to earn them.

Weapons for everyone - You can now use weapons belonging to other classes. However, you must reach a certain level before you can equip the most powerful weapons.

Improvements:

Shop interiors - They've been redesigned and filled out with merchants for each class. These merchants will become truly important once quests are integrated into the official version.

Hidden weapons - To further optimize the game, weapons are no longer visible while you're walking around the world. You'll see them again during combat. This will let us offer you other customization elements in the future without hurting gameplay.

Monster movement - It's been fixed to make it smoother.

Visible characters - You can now reveal characters hidden by obstacles. Press "SHIFT + 2" to toggle this feature.

Other notes:

Fixed a bug in the "Friends" interface.

Optimized controlled loading of Dofus (language file).

Your characters keep their levels.

Specially for the Dofus Tournament, we decided to release v13b a few days early. In it you'll find a highly anticipated feature: the ability to trade Kamas and other items safe from thieves... even Role Play ones.
Other new features include artwork integration, the ability to use weapons from other guilds, and more.

For the Eurolan, we remind Dofus Tournament participants that they must bring a photo for the badge, which will let you benefit from discounts on food and access to the rest area if you're sleeping on site.

Dofus v13b — Dofus History's beta changelog table

Per Dofus History's beta-changelog table, v13b's main addition is the trade interface, letting players swap items and kamas by clicking on another player. Character and vendor artwork is now integrated into the game, visible notably during combat turns. Characters no longer start with a weapon at level 1 — weapons must now be earned — but it becomes possible to use weapons belonging to other classes (the strongest ones still gated behind a minimum level). Shop interiors are reworked with a dedicated vendor per class, weapons are hidden outside of combat, monster movement is fixed, and a shortcut (Shift+2) reveals characters hidden behind scenery.

Dofus v13b — Dofus History

This version was supposed to come out on June 1, 2004, as shown by this forum page; however, it was moved up to the previous weekend to match the dates of a tournament, and it came out on May 28, 2004 (news about the switch to v13b). The update's changelog is available here.
The first new feature of this patch is the addition of the trade interface: it secures trades between players and avoids having to drop an item on the ground where someone with bad intentions could grab it. A second new feature is the addition of merchants — I believe the changelog refers to merchants in the temples, but that needs confirming. Artworks appeared with this update; artworks are the illustrations that display at the start of a player's or monster's turn, or the NPC image that appears during a trade. Most artworks come from the monster skins used in versions before v12b, and some will remain that way until Dofus Retro. Among the other small changes, it's now possible to reveal characters hidden behind walls, and there were fixes for other minor issues such as the language file loading problem. Characters weren't wiped as with other betas, proof that the content and balancing were starting to shift toward higher levels.

v13b also came with a very major weapons update: there are no more weapons provided at level 1 — you have to buy or drop them; weapons now have an equip level, and you can equip any weapon you want, but in exchange weapons are no longer visible. This is a very major change compared to the start of the game's beta, and it makes it easy to identify a game version.

It also seems that the piglet dragon appeared with this version and had a bug, as mentioned in this forum thread; its level was supposedly very low, and it appeared in a cave in the Craqueleurs' mountain.

This beta version stayed online for 1 month, which is surely one of the longest betas; in one of the threads available here, there's a mention of a v13.1b patch, but I have no information on that.
